The Beginning of My Novel
I spent three days working to get this much down, but I can genuinely say I’m proud of it:
“The heavy raindrops smacked themselves against the window pane trying to hear the gossip worthy events taking place in the Hale household. The self-righteous thunder tried to drown out the yelling with its loud claps, and Zeus attempted to wipe it all out with his arrows of lightning. None of them succeeded.”

Psychologists have discovered that while reading a book or story, people are prone to subconsciously adopt their behavior, thoughts, beliefs and internal responses to that of fictional characters as if they were their own.
Experts have dubbed this subconscious phenomenon ‘experience-taking,’ where people actually change their own behaviors and thoughts to match those of a fictional character that they can identify with.
